Ella is so lovely in her pretty summer dress! :) Great photo shots! :) As I've never been to IL, or to your home there, I was also taken by the glimpses of the old, honest-to-goodness farm house!! :) It looks like it was built to last! :) I love that door, the hefty wood trim, and the wood floors! Is that common in IL? You don't see that much here. It looks like it was built for both quality and longevity! :) Today's new homes are built to look pretty at first, but I question the quality or longevity, and they seem to lack heart, somehow. I'm not sure I'm explaining myself well. When I saw that glimps of your home I felt the builders built it to be a real home that people would live in for a lifetime and hand down to their posterity! Unlike the homes that are built to sell for a profit, over and over again, without any thought of permanence! This entrance struck me as a home built to be lived in for years and years, for a family who plans to stay put and never move again! :) A home that's built for permanence is built very differently from one that's built to be lived in for a couple years and sold! One is built with heart, to be someone's HOME, to endure endless loving years of good times and bad times, of children running through it followed by grandchildren and then great grandchildren! The other is built to be lived in a short time and sold, then lived in and sold, etc. ... This type of home is built with today's fads in mind, stamped out quickly, rather than lovingly with longevity in mind. Lucky you to live in a house that was built to be a real home! :)
