FHE: 10-20-08

I've decided to start keeping a record of what we do for Family Home Evenings. My mother used to keep a journal of our Family Nights as we were growing up and it was so interesting to look back on the fun things we did.

Last night Mama, Papa, Gabe, Lora, Wilson, Joel, Timmy and Ella were present. We sat around the table and sang "Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree", "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam", "You Are My Sunshine" and "This Little Light of Mine". Joel sang a spontaneous medley of songs from various movies, becoming very excited and animated.

Gabe said he had an item of business and talked briefly about his plans for his immediate future. We then prayed and a had supper of sausage pie that Papa made and butternut squash that Mama baked.

After supper Papa popped a little popcorn in the microwave and we watched "Emma Smith, My Story", a new movie available through Netflix. It was lovely! It really made me think. Tears rolled down my face. The little children moved around, wedging themselves in between different family members on the couch and Joel fell asleep.

Lora and Wilson had made homemade chocolate chip cookies yesterday, which added to the atmosphere. It was a nice evening.

Love,
Mama

Your F.H.E. sounds so nice! :)
We have ours on sundays now, when Cal comes to visit! :) It's the one time of the week when he's with us, and we enjoy reading scriptures together! :) We just finished reading the B of M! :) I love all the scriptures but that's my favorite! :)
