Kids who need families

Friends, there are so many kids who are waiting for families. Children in our country who are in foster care... and sadly, thousands wait in orphanages in many other countries. Many babies and children with Down syndrome or other special needs wait in foreign orphanages in sad circumstances, facing early death in institutions without saving surgeries or simply because the institutions are understaffed or there isn't enough food. Not all orphanages are equal. Most babies with any kind of special needs are cared for until they reach the age of 4 or 5 years, and then they are put to bed in mental institutions.

Here are a few photos of international children available for adoption. I can't post identifying information. If you're interested in becoming involved in the cause of bringing orphans into families, click on the links on the right.

This is real.

I know we can't save them all, but we can each make a difference for one.

Great post! I hope through all of our efforts combined that people are led to adopt. Sometimes I think the enormity of the problem actually makes people so overwhelmed that they do nothing.
I really like the adorable pictures of Ella, too.
